MYELINE
Performance
audiovisual Immersion
MYELINE is a composition that explores the properties of neurons and myelin, the substance that improves the speed and efficiency of nerve signal transmission. The piece uses sound as a medium to question the way individuals perceive their environment, their relationships and their place in an interconnected world. It combines experimental electronic music, human vocalisations, EEG data from CISA University of Geneva, body movements and interdisciplinary research in art and science. The composition has been performed internationally in countries such as Switzerland, France, Germany, Portugal, Colombia, Macao, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Japan. Each performance is a unique experience, inviting the audience to engage with their inner voice and body, using sound and light to explore the processes of information transmission in neuronal-type systems within the living world.
For this evening of 8 March 2025, Julie Semoroz invites visual artist Sophie Le Meillour, with whom she has collaborated for many years, notably on the NUT NUT and ASTRA projects.
