The work of Joëlle Kehrli and Svitlana Zhytnia explores the physical and emotional effects on the audience through immersive environments, where sound and image intertwine to blur and alter reference points. Their aim is to provoke a variety of inner experiences, oscillating between imbalance and gentleness, in order to carefully accompany the audience on a sensory journey.
Transcendant Illusionist aims to take each individual on a journey of deep, personal contemplation, while connecting with others through shared mediums and space.
Bios
Sitarist and vocalist Joëlle Kehrli also dabbles in electronics, field recording and radio with an intuitive and experimental approach. In 2013 in Paris, she took part in the creation of the review Jef Klak. In Geneva from 2014, she plays with various artists then starts her solo jo~oj with a 1st album in 2019 on Copypasta. In 2022, she released a 2nd album and an EP with ALMA (Spiritual Nomad), launched the Lálla Beau project and began a collaboration with visual artist Svitlana Zhytnia.
Svitlana Zhytnia, aka Zhi Zhi, is a digital artist who started out in theatre and performance before founding her studio in 2017, Zhi Zhi Visuals. She creates immersive visual experiences for theatre and music events, using programming and animation to produce interactive visuals. Since 2022, she has continued her work in Austria after leaving Ukraine due to the war.
