NFT - 12 Tones

12 pure tones, 132 bi-tones

12-Tones and 132-biTones are two NFT collections by the duo of digital artists from the Robert Turner Collective and the electroacoustic jazz music duo INFLUUT.

Constituting a collection of 12 identical videos, 12-Tones presents the full dodecaphonic scale with the corresponding hues on the colour wheel. The original video is taken from a sequence in which John Coltrane is playing the trumpet, and which has been algorithmically modified using the abstractions of the Robert Turner Collective. The effect produced is a sound wave that passes through the screen. The sound comes from the recording of several types of saxophones playing a sustained note, with the addition of binaural synthesis sounds of wind and brainwaves. The sounds are played in a loop, which induces a state of slow hypnosis and triggers a sort of colour synesthesia.

Individual elements of the 12-Tones work are available as NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain and are sold as source of decentralized financing to support the costs of the exhibition. Also, the 12 pure tones are combined in pairs to generate 132 bi-tones distributed on the Polygon blockchain. Those ones are part of the art catalogue of the exhibition and distributed phisicaly at the exhibition space.

Auction and unveiling of the 12 pure tones NFTs on June 2 for the opening. End of the auction on Saturday, June 25 at midnight, for the closing of the exhibition.
